Wife/Mother/Worker/Spy : Even an Empty Nester Needs Somewhere to Sit
Will Style.com Go the Way of Men.Style.com?
Someone get this woman a laptop!
Interview’s former managing editor Alexandra Mack will start at Vogue.com as managing editor this week. It’s the latest sign of Vogue.com beefing up for its final severing from Style.com. Vogue.com has added behind-the-scenes videos of photo shoots, and they force their top editors, like André Leon Talley and Hamish Bowles, to blog. They may only do so very sporadically, but, you know, the Internet is tough stuff for people so attached to paper. According to WWD, insiders are wondering if once Vogue.com officially weans off the Style.com teat, from which it is still suckling, Style.com will die, like Men.Style.com did last fall. (Condé instead decided to give GQ and Details their own sites.) Anna Wintour is editor-in-chief of Vogue.com. If she knew what was best for her and the site, she would treat her adoring fans to a blog post every now and then. Welcome to the Internet, Vogue! Dot-com! It’s a scary and mean place, but surely you can handle that.

Greenpoint Jewelry Store Old Hollywood Joining the Limelight Marketplace
Greenpoint accessories shop Old Hollywood is the latest addition to the Limelight Marketplace — the only jewelry vendor in the three-story retail complex so far. It’s a step up from owner Tiffany Porter’s 300-square-foot original location on Meserole Avenue: She’ll share the 12,000-square-foot Limelight with J. Sisters salon, a sneaker gallery, a gourmet market, and non-Brooklyn brands like LeSportsac and Brocade Home. Though she’s keeping her Greenpoint store open, Porter will introduce around fifteen new designers in the Limelight space, including Erica Weiner, Tom Tom Jewelry, In God We Trust, and Elizabeth Street. Emmy Rossum Is in a Red State of Mind
Emmy Rossum wore a red minidress with black Valentino shoes to the Darker Side of Green climate-change debate last night in New York. She kept her makeup natural, and wore her hair in simple waves.
Do you like her clean look?

Obama Jeans Now Available in Rwanda
A travel blogger found pants with an “Obama Jeanswear” tag in Rwanda, bearing a crest with two griffins. Interesting, considering that though Obama is known for his preferred style of jeans, it’s not usually in a good way. [Racked]

Agyness Deyn Is in Clash of the Titans
Natalia Vodianova plays Medusa in Clash of the Titans. Though fashion blogs have been mildly freaking out about this for a few days, the people who made Clash of the Titans don’t seem to be necessarily capitalizing on her inclusion in the film. Nor are they making a big to-do of Agyness Deyn’s appearance. Deyn apparently plays Aphrodite, and no stills of her on the set or clips of her in the film have been released.
This is how Grazia describes her role:
According to our sources, Agy spent about a week filming in London, although her role is a little bit blink-and-you’ll-miss-it – she’s basically standing looking gob-smackingly beautiful in the home of the Gods, but you wouldn’t necessarily realise it was her if you weren’t looking out.
Maybe they’re trying to hide the models. We wonder if they let them speak lines. In the clip of Natalia as Medusa she just hisses and grunts.

See Stella McCartney’s Entire Second Gap Kids Collection
Stella McCartney posted the complete look book of her second Gap Kids line to her Facebook page, and it is predictably adorable. We’re guessing big people will try to fit themselves into the little sweater coat and the marching-band jacket more than any other items. Stella herself appears in the look book. [Facebook]

HAIR
• The Bumpit failed the Jersey Shore’s Snooki: “I do not use a Bumpit. When I first saw the commercial a year ago I ordered it right away. I was so excited to get it in the mail, I put it in my hair, then I started walking down the hallway and it fell out — it didn’t stay in my hair!” [Daily Beauty Reporter/Allure]
• Even though Shu Uemura announced it will leave the United States market this year, their Art of Hair line of hair products will remain in American stores and salons. Only makeup products are going to move to online-only availability. [Beauty Counter/Style.com]
MAKEUP
• Makeup artist Tegan Taylor, who was the head of makeup for Avatar, has carved out a new specialty: digital and 3-D makeup. In order to design a look, she applies hundreds of reflective dots on someone’s face to capture facial data and apply makeup accordingly. [Variety]

Cobble Hill Barneys Co-op to Open in September
Yesterday Barneys confirmed that a Co-op store would open in Cobble Hill. They expect it to open in the second week of September, possibly on Fashion’s Night Out, which would mark at least one night and one place you’re meant to be drunk and rowdy in that neighborhood. [tokny]
