Slideshow: The Week in Street Style

Elena Perminova, shot in Paris by Stockholm Streetstyle.

Thank you, street-style bloggers, for ending these slushy last days of 2010 on such a lovely note. Highlights from this week include a gorgeous shot of Elena Perminova, captured in a sheer black dress by Stockholm Streetstyle during Paris Fashion Week, as well as a shot of Katie Fogarty by Altamira. Our personal favorite: a joyful-looking Raquel, shot with her dog Chloe in Lisbon by O Alfaiete Lisboeta.

We’re off to do some drinking, napping, more drinking, and resolving. Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve, everybody!

Kim Kardashian Has Cornrows Now, Inexplicably

Kornrows. There, we typed it.

Kim Kardashian tweeted Wednesday, “Ok just took a quick nap and woke up with a whole new look! Love the glam squad!” This “new look” was apparently cornrow braids, which she debuted at the gym yesterday. No word on why exactly she got them, but it might have something to do with her music video, which she’s rumored to be shooting now with Kanye West. [PopEater]

Daphne Guinness Hates to be Called ‘Eccentric,’ Used to Be a ‘Real Tomboy’

“I truly hate the word [eccentric],” Guinness told the Times. “I’m actually very grounded … eccentrics are almost asexual, and that is not something you can say of me, by any means.” As a young child being raised by wealthy bohemians in Cadaqués, Spain, Guinness “was overly serious and thoughtful, a real tomboy, always dressing up as a knight or a pirate or a red Indian. If there is anything you can say about me, it’s that I have not lost the imagination I had when I was 5 years old.” [NYT]

The Best and Worst of December Fashion Magazines

The magazines closed 2010 much as we all will, with a little extra heft, a few strange gifts, and many welcome ones. Italian Vogue shot model mom Gisele topless, which is sure to make us all feel great after coming off of all that holiday eating. The latest issue of 10 was devoted to editors, perhaps most notably cover girl Anna Dello Russo, who poses with her dog for the editorial inside. Tom Ford managed to insert himself into every page of French Vogue, which he guest-edited this month, without putting his own picture on every page. And Vogue’s special “Best Dressed” issue immortalized some of the year’s best moments of celebrities and supermodels in the wild. See those images and more from this month’s issues in the slideshow.

It Looks Like the Beckhams Aren’t Moving to New York Anytime Soon

Staying put.

After Victoria Beckham reportedly told a friend that “L.A. just isn’t a real fashion city,” rumors started flying that the Beckhams were moving to New York. Unsurprisingly, “there is no truth to the story,” reps for both David and Victoria told the Daily News. [NYDN]
