Dazed for Decades

Jefferson Hack is one of the fashion world’s most prolific party hosts. Last night, at a dinner at Paris’ Derrière, given with Club Monaco, he had a particularly good reason to celebrate: This year marks Dazed & Confused’s 20th anniversary. Actress Élodie Bouchez—one of the handful who star in Club Monaco’s new campaign, which was excerpted in Dazed’s pages—co-hosted the soirée, and the likes of Poppy and Cara Delevingne, Jamie Bochert, and Leigh Lezark turned up to toast the magazine. A stage was set up at the front of the bar, and a few guests were wondering if Marianne Faithfull, who was sitting at Hack’s table, might step up to the mike. “No, no,” she demurred, in her iconic gravelly voice. “I’m performing tomorrow in Amsterdam. This isn’t my night.”

Instead, the night belonged to slinky Cécile Cassel, sister of actor Vincent and instant girl crush for all the ladies in the room. Cassel performed a rocking three-song set, and then André Saraiva took the decks and the real partying got under way as a crush of folks showed up for the after do. If the quality of a party can be measured by its wreckage, this one was a doozy: In the wee hours, Derrière was a disaster zone of trays of half-eaten cream puffs, pillaged Club Monaco gift bags, and the empty bottles of Champagne that, at some point, guests just started pouring for themselves. Dazed and confused, indeed.

Julianne Moore Remembered Her Sunglasses

Julianne Moore.

Julianne Moore sat in the front row of the Lanvin show as part of Paris Fashion Week today, wearing a blue, striped, knee-length dress with a ruched neckline, cinched at the waist by a black leather belt. She added blue heels and a pair of chunky white circular-frame sunglasses, though she took the shades off for some photos and, just maybe, the runway show too.

Are you a fan of Julianne’s quirky glasses? And would her dress have looked better without the wide belt, or do you like how it defines her waist?

Jersey Shore Fashion Recap: However Tight You Think Leopard Dresses Can Be, Think Again

A tight leopard dress may have aided the ruin of Snooki’s relationship with Jionni, but that will not stop her or any other girl in the house from wearing something as loudly patterned or as tight — if not tighter. Perhaps to offset all that patterned spandex on last night’s episode, JWOWW dug up the most blouselike top we’ve ever seen on the show, which was appropriate since she displayed above and beyond the most maturity of any of the cast members. While Snooki’s zebra fanny-pack made a valiant return, no accessory was more dazzling than Pauly D’s bedazzled laptop. See those looks and more in the slideshow.

Slideshow: The Week in Style Blogs

In light of all our street style coverage this week, we’ve decided to re-name our weekly style blog roundup to clarify its inclusion of much more than just street style. We obviously include personal style blogs, as well as those that defy any categorization; frankly, we don’t care whether your picture was taken by yourself or your boyfriend or a possibly creepy stranger on the sidewalk. The main objective of this roundup is to cull the most interesting photos of great-looking people from the Internet, and, provided we have permission to use them, compile them here.

So without further ado, we present you with this week’s images. The Indian summer weather brought out lots of breezy maxi skirts, as worn by Eva (shown), captured by this week’s taste-maker, Caroline Blomst of Stockholm Streetstyle. There were a plethora of cute minidresses, crisp button-downs, and a very daring sheer blouse worn by Sarah Rutson, shot in Paris by Cafe Mode.

The other day I went to see a young entrepreneur named Cecilia Bringheli. While in Milan I had seen and admired a pair of her flats on the editor Giovanna Battaglia.
