Brad Goreski at Band of Outsiders today.
Rachel Zoe will show the first-ever presentation of her clothing collection this Fashion Week, but former assistant Brad Goreski won’t be there, he told the Cut at Erin Fetherston. Are the pair on good terms? “You can ask her at the show!” Goreski told the Cut. Does he regret leaving Zoe? “It had almost been three years, I was turning 33 years old and it was time for me to branch out on my own or be a permanent life assistant and I chose to go out on my own,” Goreski said. “It was the best decision I ever made” — he now has his own slew of clients including In Style, Details and BlackBook, along with a new reality show in the making. Goreski hasn’t been watching the new season — “I lived it, I don’t need to watch it” — but perhaps if he got a look at the chest-baring outfits of Rachel’s new assistant, he’d change his tune.

Rose McGowan with Ruffian’s Brian Wolk and Claude Morais.
This morning’s Ruffian show walked at 9 a.m., which was far too early for Rose McGowan’s liking. “I had to get up at 6 for hair and makeup, and that’s 3 a.m. L.A. time. So I just feel ill,” she complained backstage. What compelled her to attend? “The Ruffian boys are my friends. Unless I’m getting paid, I don’t get up this early; I’m doing this for love,” she said. Nevertheless, she still looked quite polished, and wouldn’t have it any other way: “I generally believe in being overdressed. I don’t believe in sweatpants and tennis shoes in public. I also have far deeper beliefs, but if we’re talking fashion…” She trailed off. “I’m not completely insipid, just slightly.”

Chris Bosh.
Maybe it’s because of the NBA lockout, but basketball players are out in force this Fashion Week. Amar’e Stoudemire debuted his collaboration with Rachel Roy, Dwyane Wade is wondering what to call his new line, and Carmelo Anthony has made the Anna Wintour connection. Last night at Cynthia Rowley, Wade’s Miami Heat teammate Chris Bosh explained the NBA’s own catwalk to us: “We always have that infamous walk from the bus to our locker room and that’s when a lot of camera time is involved. People watch that a lot. They always show that on TV. You always want to make sure you have your clothes right and make sure you’re looking good, and for me it helps with my game, because it makes me more serious, it puts me in the mood to go out there and do my job.”

Coco Rocha with Rachel Roy.
Tumblr-savvy Coco Rocha chatted about the pros and cons of blogging the behind-the-scenes of the modeling world at Lucky’s Fashion and Beauty Blogger conference yesterday. “You lose contracts definitely, jobs, because a lot of the models, they don’t want them to talk,” she told us. “You’re a face and that’s it; don’t have a personality. But others love that you have a personality.”
Rocha uses her blog to do everything from show off her “owling” skills to respond to criticism about her weight. “There was an article that had been mentioned in the newspaper that I was too fat for the runway and I thought ‘This is ridiculous.’ This was out of context, and I wrote down on the blog what I thought of that,” she explained. “And after I realized how well it did, I was like, ‘This can go somewhere.’ Before it was just fun stories I was talking about, and then I thought, ‘Well I’ll talk about everything!’”

The City premieres next week, but not with Allie Crandell. “I’m done with The City forever!” she declared last night at the Ruby Kobo party. On the upside, Allie is no longer dating her bad boyfriend. “He turned out to be something that I didn’t know he was. It was pretty heartbreaking,” she admits. “I’m trying to focus on myself and mingle in New York City and focus on my career.” But that doesn’t mean the model isn’t on the prowl for a new love, provided he knows how to behave: “I’m done with boys — I’m onto men!” Allie had attended Whitney Port’s show the night before, but don’t expect to see her out anytime soon with Olivia Palermo — who, by the way, is “definitely edited to be bitchier than she is in real life.” But still. “I never hung out with her,” says Allie. “The only thing that brought us together was the show.”
